Cirrus, part of ITG (holding), signed a deal with Electricité de Zahlé (EDZ) to implement and manage the “Backup as a Service” solution in order to protect their data and save it in a different geographic location.
Cirrus’ backup as a service guarantees that the client’s data is secured and encrypted from beginning to end. It ensures reliable and fast recovery of information, as well as improving customer relationship and financial situation.
Cirrus assessed the existing environment, performed the necessary upgrades and set a proper backup and recovery solution, which allowed EDZ to self-manage their backup operation while having two copies of their backed up data, one copy on premises and one at a distant geographic location.
The pricing was based on a subscription model reducing the total cost of ownership. Cirrus’ solution was also able to dramatically minimize backup time by storing extra compressed data on a local appliance.
All the above is feasible while consuming significantly less network bandwidth and even condensing the amount of data sent off-site. In addition, a continuous consistency check is being performed in order to guarantee the successful restore of the client’s off-site data.
Utilizing Cirrus’ solution unleashes the power and flexibility of “Backup as a Service” in an unprecedented way, taking the data protection of EDZ to the next level. It gives full protection for any workload virtually, regardless of its location, and it’s all controlled from an easy-to-use single console. These unique capabilities give reliable backup and recovery performance and scalability, yielding the predictability, agility and efficiencies EDZ’s business requires without affecting the security level. The improved response times in the backup environment have resulted in a superior customer satisfaction level.
The deal was signed in April 2017 and the service is now fully operational.
