Bridging the gap between students and the workforce, Holcom opened its doors to several universities such as the Lebanese University (LU), the Lebanese American University (LAU), Antonine University, and Notre Dame University to name a few.
The purpose behind such initiatives is to build bridges between Holcom and Universities, to motivate, recruit talents and boost entrepreneurship. ITG encourages students to pursue and anticipate their next step in their careers, not losing hope in what our country offers.
HOLCOM, a large group of companies, has a 50 year history in diligently serving clients in the EMEA region, providing a large portfolio of solutions and services in the areas of hardware, system software and application software, in addition to building automation and office solutions. Strong with a proven track-record and solid partnerships with leaders in the ICT industry, Holcom offers the full spectrum of solutions to most businesses, ranging from office furniture to the full-fledged data center, in addition to Cloud-based services.
The University students were welcomed by Mr. Claude J. Bahsali, Chairman & CEO of ITG Holding (part of Holcom), Dr. Fouad Zmokhol, Advisor to the Board of Directors of ITG, and Mr. Joe Ghossoub, VP for Business Development of ITG. A guided tour of the building was organized, highlighting its smart and eco-friendly aspects, covering the 5 floors offices, the data center, the contact center, and the solar energy system.
Dr. Fouad Zmokhol then discussed the socio/economic situation in Lebanon and the region, highlighting the importance of keeping confidence in Lebanon and ensuring the employment of Lebanon’s talent. Certainly, building bridges between Holcom and the Universities comes in that context.
Thereafter, Mr. Bahsali and Mr. Ghossoub presented the group’s diversified portfolio which goes back to 1967, outlining its vision and the persistence in times of turmoil which led to its success. They also talked about the Holcom building, a solar powered & energy efficient building, and its various eco-friendly and smart features: From renewable energy, lighting management & control, to flexible office partitioning, adaptable workspace and office furniture solutions from leading global brands. Mr. Bahsali also outlined the group’s mission and the importance of the human capital in the success of Holcom.
Technical sessions on selected subjects, covering Cloud Computing, The Right IT Move, and The World of Solutions were then held for students. That was followed by a closing gathering over drinks in the building’s open air cafeteria, during which group managers shared their experiences with students who, in turn, spoke about their dreams and aspirations.
