Investing in solar energy systems might seem risky in the current market situation, however it is time to join the growing group of smart business owners that are discovering the environmental, commercial and financial benefit of going green with ECOsys, an ITG Company.
The solar system project was divided into two implementation phases.
The first phase was a bid co-funded by the UNDP whereby LibanJus tested the 134.82 kWp system installed and were happy with the result and ECOsys’ unparalleled support and performance. Consequently, LibanJus decided to expand the solar project with a second phase that was 784.04 kWp.
LibanJus recognized the financial return of renewable energy as they wanted to reduce their dependency on typical energy sources and unpredictable expenses from their rising electricity bills. Going solar was the best alternative source of energy for their factories and for the future.
Our team of experts at ECOsys have designed, supplied and installed a 918.86 kWp photovoltaic power plant that operates in parallel with EDL and Diesel generators at LibanJus in Baabda, Lebanon, and is powered by KACO new energy (Siemens) Grid inverters. They had to optimize the design and distribution of the PV panels to the inverters as the 7300 m2 site had different roof orientations and some shaded areas.
The system consists of 2306 x 340W monocrystalline PV panels and 428 x 315W polycrystalline PV panels that are distributed over 6 areas and connected to 24 grid-inverters decentralized in 3 different locations protected by totalizing panels. Moreover, the AC output power cables of these totalizing panels are each connected to a different load in the electrical room.
A centralized energy management and monitoring systems were also installed, whereby the controller communicates with all inverters through Modbus TCP protocol to ensure a proper and safe operation of PV system with the generators, and the monitoring system helps keep track of the energy produced.
Now LibanJus’ renewable energy system yields a maximum energy generation of 1,257,824 kWh/year and 817,650 kg of CO2 saving/year.
‘This project was one of the core initiatives of LibanJus’ sustainability strategy to create a positive impact on our environment. As a result, we’re able to get 40% of our energy from green renewable sources. We encourage all factories in Lebanon to consider a Solar PV solution in order to decrease their environmental footprint at an attractive payback’, said Mr. Nadim Gharios – Director at LibanJus.
